Welcome, my name is Kiran and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #28451) with over 20 years of experience. I specialize in and provide mental health support to people dealing with fertility issues, pregnancy, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, postpartum depression, and postpartum anxiety. I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2002.
I believe in meeting my clients where they are at in their own journeys of parenthood or life in general. My focus is to work together with you to build a comprehensive plan around your specific needs. I am dedicated to promoting the well-being of my clients through evidence-based practices and a client-centered approach.
Where it all began...
In 2005, I started working on the maternal-child health floor in a hospital setting where I was able to help patients experiencing grief, loss, postpartum depression, and medical trauma. My passion truly lies in working with individuals going through their journeys and challenges in pregnancy, childbirth, any type of loss, adoptions, or surrogacies.
Change of scenery....then back to my roots
In 2019, I struggled with my own loss of losing my father and felt it was the right time to move on from the medical field in the hospital setting to a smaller medical setting. Working as a preceptor in this new smaller medical setting, I quickly realized that this was not my calling as I began to miss working with the perinatal population. Soon after, I was given an opportunity to provide mental health therapy to the perinatal population and I believe this remains my calling.
It's getting personal...
I've faced my own challenges with my fertility journey, and at times, the emotional weight felt overwhelming. I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support of my spouse and family, who helped me navigate those difficult moments.
That said, each fertility journey is uniquely personal, and not everyone is fortunate enough to have the support or guidance to navigate those struggles.
Personal...
I am of Asian descent and love learning about everyone's family histories, cultures, foods, etc. I met my fabulous spouse at work many years ago and we have two children together. We also have a fur baby that lives with us and runs this household. We love traveling together and just enjoying life. Oh and...I always find time for dancing.
If you are looking for someone to provide you with an environment full of:
-warmth
-compassion
-humor
-and being straightforward, then I am a good fit for you.
